TED is a conference format. Speakers from all over the world tell about their experience. There are scientific talks, politics talks, psicology and sociology talks. I find a lot of them illuinating. Speakers are involved, they are passionate. And they tell their stories. I learned important lessons from these talks; some of which I use everyday.
You'll find below my personal selection amongh the thousands of talks available on ted.com.
This is sometihing I've been thinking for a lot of time. We live in a world where theoretically almost everything is possible. Were we always have 1000 options and we are constantly under the gunfire of adverts of the "best" holidays, the "best" objects. This doesn't go without consequences. Is all this just bringing welfare and happiness?
The future is coming and for ones is used for the good. This video tells a story of new technologies and towards the end even risks to make you cry.
To describe this talk I'll use he's own words because I believe this guy it quite good in "making" the point. As a traveler I can say that he is right sayng that "Nowhere is an interersting place if you don't bring the right eyes to it" because you can go all the way to Australia but you havn't moved an inch away from youself. And I also agree when he says that "on our on demand lives there is nothing so important as sitting still".
An interesting talk about how we experience and most importantly how we remember and how this can affect out lives.
This talk is about technology, how computers evolved to do some siple tasks soetimes better tha humans. It also contains a hint that work as we know it today will disappear in the next 10-20 years. Drivers for example, in a few years computers can be as good as humans in driving cars and of course cheaper and more efficient. Therefore we have to start to think how to re-organize our society around the new establishent.
Ever been in a emercengy situation. The speaker, a firefighter, has been in many and tell us how combining gut feeling and reason is the path to the best decisions.

A hint: it's not money, nor success.
Simon Sinek, author of "Start with Why" speaks about leadership.
What keeps us motivated? Do the end of year bonus or sales quotas work? Hint: No. But I was suprised to learn they work in reverse!
One that I did not expect. A suprisingly honest and enlightening talk from a top model.
